Features

Features of the Legal Smriti app

Every course is built on daily lessons, live classes, assignments and reviewer feedback. Around them are tools for practice, revision and guidance.

Learning

Live classes, one day at a time

Your course opens one day at a time. A day can include a live class at a fixed time, with a replay if you miss it.

  • Live classes

Join the day's live class in the app or on the website at the time the course team has set. You can join while the class is live, and joining records your attendance.

  • Replays of missed live classes

If you miss a live class, you can watch its recording up to 3 times, at any time afterwards. Replays play only in the app or on the website and can't be downloaded.

  • Daily course structure

A new day opens each calendar day from your start date, with its lesson, its assignment and any live class. Open days stay open, so you can go at your own pace.

  • Reminders and notifications

The app reminds you 30 minutes before a live class and lets you know when your feedback is ready, when a new day opens and when a payment is confirmed. You choose which ones you receive.

  • Class calendar

See every upcoming and live class across your courses in one list, and add any of them to your calendar.

Practice

Practise in the exam pattern

Multiple-choice questions with explanations, comprehension passages and timed tests. Only you see your scores.

  • Question bank

Practise multiple-choice questions by subject and topic, one at a time. Check each answer to see the correct option and an explanation.

  • Comprehension passages

For CLAT and TG LAWCET, read a passage and answer the set of questions based on it, in the question bank and in tests.

  • Test series

Take timed mock and sectional tests, with negative marking where the exam has it. See your score, a topic-wise breakdown and the explanations, and try again as often as you like.

  • Daily practice

Answer up to five questions a day, chosen first from your own courses. A new set is ready the next day.

  • Mistake book

Questions you answered wrongly are kept here so you can try them again. Answer one correctly and it leaves the book.

Revision

Revise what you have studied

Your own notes and bookmarks, flashcards and Bare Acts, with one search across them.

  • Notes

Write a private note on a lesson or a Bare Act section. Your notes are collected in one place for revision.

  • Bookmarks

Bookmark lessons and Bare Act sections to come back to them. Your bookmarks sit beside your notes.

  • Flashcards

Study flashcard decks on topics such as legal maxims, key sections, limitation periods and professional ethics. Rate how well you remembered each card, and the ones you find hard come back sooner.

  • Bare Acts

Read sections of key acts chapter by chapter and find a section by its number or heading. Look up an old section, such as IPC 302, to see the section that replaced it.

Assessment

Assignments with reviewer feedback

Submit the day's assignment once. A reviewer publishes your marks, a summary and suggestions, and you acknowledge the feedback to complete the day.

  • Assignments

The day's assignment opens once you have attended the live class or started its replay, or straight away on a day without a live class. Answer every question and submit once: a submitted assignment can't be edited.

  • Reviewer evaluation

A reviewer from the Legal Smriti team reads your submission and publishes the review. Reviews are blind: the reviewer sees your submission ID and learner category, not your name.

  • Marks

Your marks are shown as a total out of the assignment's marks, such as 18 / 25. Only you see your marks: there are no rankings or leaderboards.

  • Feedback

With your marks come a written summary and up to 10 suggestions on what to improve. You're notified when it is ready, and acknowledging it completes the day.

Guidance

Plan and track your preparation

Follow your progress, plan your study days up to the exam, and keep up with exam and legal updates.

  • Progress and learning streak

Home shows how much of your course you have completed, your next step and your learning streak: the run of days in a row on which you completed a day.

  • Study plan

Enter your exam date, the days you study and the minutes you have each day. The plan lays out your remaining lessons up to the exam, with revision days at the end, and updates each time you open it.

  • Progress report

See your days completed, live classes attended and review marks, with your average and recent trend. Days with marks below 60% are listed as worth revisiting, with your reviewer's first suggestion.

  • Exam updates

Exam notifications, dates, syllabus changes and results, posted by the Legal Smriti team with a link to the official source.

Professional development

Help beyond the daily lesson

Ask about a lesson, have written answers evaluated, book a mentor session, join free masterclasses and use drafting templates.

  • Ask a doubt

Ask a question about any day that is open in your course, and faculty answer in writing in the same thread. You can add a follow-up to each answer.

  • Answer-writing evaluation

Write an answer to a question set by the faculty and submit it for evaluation. A reviewer gives marks out of 10, written feedback and notes by criterion; each answer uses one evaluation credit.

  • Mentor sessions

Book a one-to-one guidance session or a mock interview with a mentor in an open slot. Each booking uses one credit, which comes back if you cancel at least 12 hours before the start.

  • Free masterclasses

Free live online sessions open to every learner, with an optional reminder 30 minutes before each one starts.

  • Drafting templates

A library of drafting templates, such as affidavits, arranged by category as PDF or Word files. Unlock templates up to your free allowance, currently 3 per account, and open them again whenever you need them.

Drafting templates in the Legal Smriti app: "2 of 3 free templates left", a search field, Affidavits and Legal notices categories, and templates such as an affidavit for change of name and a legal notice for recovery of dues.

Achievements

Milestones and certificates

Milestones mark your own progress. When you complete every day of a course, your completion certificate is printed and posted to you.

  • Printed completion certificate

When you complete every day of a course, your completion certificate is printed and posted to the address in your profile. You can follow its status on your Profile.

  • Milestones

Badges that mark your own progress: your first completed day, your first reviewed assignment, 7, 30 and 50 days completed, learning streaks and a completed course. There are no points or rankings.

  • Digital certificate

After you complete a course, the Legal Smriti team can issue a digital certificate with a verification code and a link anyone can use to check it. Your printed certificate is still posted to you.
