Legal
Disclaimer
Legal Smriti provides legal education, not legal advice. This page explains what that means for its courses, exam information, templates and certificates.
Under review
This disclaimer is being reviewed and may be updated. If you have a question about it, contact us.
This disclaimer applies to the Legal Smriti app and website, including their courses, live classes, replays, assignments, reviews, drafting templates and these information pages.
Education, not legal advice
Legal Smriti provides legal education. It does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
Our courses, live classes, replays, assignments, reviews, templates and other content are for learning. They are general in nature and aren’t advice on any particular situation. Don’t rely on them in place of advice from a qualified advocate about your own matter.
No lawyer–client relationship
No lawyer–client relationship is created between you and Legal Smriti, or anyone who teaches or reviews on it, through:
- our educational content, lessons, live classes and replays;
- doubts you ask and the answers you receive;
- mentor sessions;
- reviews and evaluations of your assignments and answers;
- drafting templates; or
- contacting us.
Please don’t share confidential details of your own or anyone else’s legal matter in doubts, assignments or messages.
Exam information is a guide
Information about exams on Legal Smriti, such as patterns, syllabi, eligibility, dates and marks, is a guide to help you prepare. It isn’t official.
- Exam conducting bodies can change their dates, patterns and rules at any time.
- The official notification always prevails. Check the latest notification from the conducting body before you apply or plan your preparation.
- Where the app shows exam updates, each one links to its official source so that you can check it.
No guarantee of results
Legal Smriti helps you learn and practise. We don’t guarantee any exam result, rank, selection, enrolment, job or other outcome.
Marks and suggestions from reviewers are feedback on your answers. They aren’t a prediction of how you will do in an exam.
Accuracy and updates
- We prepare our content with care and check references against official texts, but it may contain errors or omissions.
- Laws, rules and judgments change. Content reflects the law as it stood when the content was prepared and may not include later amendments.
- Bare Acts in the app may include only selected sections, and may not reflect the latest amendments.
- Current-affairs material can go out of date quickly.
- Always check important points against the official, current text of the law, rule or notification.
If you think something on Legal Smriti is wrong or out of date, please tell us.
Drafting templates
Drafting templates are general, illustrative formats provided for learning. They aren’t drafted for your case.
- Adapt any template to your facts, to the current law and to the requirements of the court or authority concerned.
- Using a template needs your own professional judgement, and you are responsible for any document you prepare from it.
- A template doesn’t create a lawyer–client relationship.
Certificates
A Legal Smriti certificate records that you completed every day of a Legal Smriti course. It doesn’t certify marks, attendance or readiness for an exam. It is not a degree, diploma, licence or professional qualification, and it is not issued or accredited by any university, Bar Council or government body.
Where digital certificates are offered, anyone with a certificate’s code or link can check its name, course and issue date.
Third-party links and services
Legal Smriti links to, and works with, services run by others, such as official websites, the meeting platform used for live classes and payment providers. We don’t control them, and their own terms and policies apply when you use them.
A link to another website isn’t an endorsement of it.
No legal services
The Legal Smriti app and this website are about legal education only. Nothing on them is an offer of legal services.
Language
English is the reference language of Legal Smriti. If any part of the app is shown in another language and the two differ, the English text prevails.
Limits of our responsibility
We work to keep Legal Smriti accurate and available, but we can’t promise that its content is complete, current or free of errors, or that the service will always be available. You decide how to use what you learn.
Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under applicable law that can’t be excluded or limited.
