About Us

About Legal Smriti

Legal Smriti is a structured, day-by-day legal-education platform for law students, aspirants and practising advocates.

Introduction

Learning law, one day at a time

Our courses prepare law students and aspirants for law entrance and competitive law examinations, and give practising advocates practical training in litigation and drafting.

Each course is a sequence of days. A new day opens each day, and each one takes you from its lesson to an assignment and feedback from a reviewer, with a live class on the days that have one, so you learn in a steady rhythm rather than all at once.

Registration is free. You start with one course and can add more to the same account later, switching between them from Home.

Our vision

A legal career built one day at a time: legal education that is steady, structured and honest, with progress that learners can see in their own work.

Our mission

To give law students, aspirants and advocates structured, day-by-day courses in which every lesson leads to practice, and every submitted assignment comes back with a reviewer's marks and suggestions.

What we do

Courses built around daily practice

Daily lessons and live classes, an assignment on every day's topic, and feedback from a reviewer on what you write.

  • Structured courses

For law entrance and competitive law examinations, the judicial services and legal practice. Each course page sets out its length, what it includes and its one-time fee. Drafting Assistance is free.

    View all courses

  • A daily rhythm

Each day brings a lesson and the day's assignment, and can include a live class at a fixed time. If you miss the class, you can watch its replay up to 3 times.

    How a day works

  • Feedback from a reviewer

You answer each assignment in your own words. A reviewer reads it and returns marks, a summary and suggestions on what to work on next.

  • Practice and revision tools

A question bank, timed mock tests, daily practice and a mistake book, with flashcards, Bare Act sections with old-to-new mapping, and your own notes and bookmarks.

Some features are introduced gradually; the app's Explore section shows what is available on your account.

Two ways to learn

In the Android app and on the web

Enrol in the Legal Smriti Android app or on the website. One account works in both, so your courses and progress are the same wherever you learn.

Who we serve

For students, aspirants and advocates

Every course is open to all three, and registration asks only for the details that fit your category.

Students

Build your legal foundation, one day at a time.

For students of the 3-year and 5-year LL.B. Final-year students can also join the Advocate's Learning Centre, and Drafting Assistance is free.

Aspirants

Preparing for a law entrance or competitive law examination.

For candidates preparing for law entrance tests such as CLAT and TG LAWCET, and for competitive law examinations such as AIBE, the Assistant Public Prosecutor selection and the Junior Civil Judge examination.

Advocates

Sharpen your legal practice with structured learning.

For enrolled advocates, especially in their first years of practice. The Advocate's Learning Centre follows the work on a case from analysis and drafting to filing, trial and client handling.

Our approach to legal education

How we think about learning law

Four ideas shape how our courses work.

  1. Practice over passive watching

Every day leads to an assignment that asks you to apply what the lesson covered, in your own words. Watching a class is where a day starts, not where it ends.

  2. Daily consistency

Learning comes in steady, manageable steps. Days stay open once they have opened, so you can catch up at your own pace, and Home always shows what comes next.

  3. Feedback on your own answers

Feedback is most useful when it is about your own work. Each review gives marks, a summary and suggestions on what you wrote, and never compares you with other learners.

  4. The current criminal codes

Where a course covers criminal law and evidence, as the All India Bar Examination, Assistant Public Prosecutor and Junior Civil Judge Exam courses do, it is built on the current codes: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The AIBE course keeps IPC-to-BNS and CrPC-to-BNSS section maps at hand.

Our learning methodology

How each day works

A new day opens each day, starting on the day your course access begins. Days don't wait for the previous one to be finished, and open days stay open.

  1. Step 1: Read the day's lesson

Each day opens with its focus and lesson, and an estimate of the time it needs.

  2. Step 2: Join the live class

Classes run at a fixed time and can be joined while they are live. Missed one? Watch the replay, up to 3 times.

  3. Step 3: Submit the assignment

It opens once you have attended the class or started its replay. Answer every question, then submit: a submission can't be edited.

  4. Step 4: Read your reviewer's feedback

A reviewer publishes your marks, a summary and suggestions, and you are notified when feedback is ready.

  5. Step 5: Complete the day

When you have read the feedback, choose Complete Day to acknowledge it. That completes the day and updates your progress.

Our commitment

What you can expect from us

  • Calm, honest learning

No offer countdowns, no limited-seat claims and no leaderboards. You see only your own progress and scores, never a ranking against other learners.

  • Study material and your certificate, by post

Study material is posted to the address in your profile. When you have completed every day of a course, your completion certificate is printed and posted there too.

  • Content kept up to date

We intend to keep each course in step with the law, updating lessons when the law changes and correcting mistakes when we find them. If you notice something out of date, please contact us.

  • Education, not legal advice

Legal Smriti provides legal education. It does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
